An accomplished business executive with more than 20 years of global management experience across a diverse set of industries, Patricia sought a better way to serve the payments industry.
Over the course of her career she has transformed and scaled complex businesses from Fortune 100 companies to startups in roles that included sales and marketing as well as operations and technology.
Prior to Qolo, she spent 15 years in executive roles across all sectors of the payments industry leading teams to industry firsts and deploying award-winning technology solutions for clients.
Patricia holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Miami, an MBA in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University, and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from Columbia Business School.
A world-renowned payments expert, Steven has held C-Suite leadership positions and served as a board advisor for startups and Fortune 500 companies. He is a “deep technology” specialist in systems engineering and design and has held CTO and CIO positions at FIS Prepaid Solutions, WaveCrest Group and WildCard Systems. Steve has designed, architected and launched multiple payments and loyalty platforms, including the first purpose-built, open-loop prepaid processing system, which is still in use today. He pioneered advanced risk/fraud detection and prevention systems and deployed the first machine-learning algorithms tailored to prepaid processing.
Steven holds two PhDs: one in computer science and one in mathematics. He is an avid flyer and both a fixed-wing and rotary wing (helicopter) pilot.
A hands-on executive with vast experience in multiple facets of the mobile and payments industry, Darren has designed and delivered high-impact technical systems, products and applications throughout his entire career. Leveraging his 20 years of expertise, Darren sought a more meaningful way to serve the payments industry and address legacy issues companies currently face.
Prior to Qolo, Darren was a founder of multiple startups, and has led payments and fintech efforts for industry leaders such as FIS, Blackhawk Network and PayActiv.
He was a NASA Space Shuttle engineer and is also an accomplished science fiction and non-fiction author. Darren received his BS in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.
Robert is a long-time payments industry veteran with experience leading operations at Fortune 500 companies and startups. Prior to co-founding Qolo, he served as COO at WaveCrest Payment Services, as Vice President at FIS with a focus on prepaid deployments, and in operational and project management roles at Wildcard Systems and Euro RSCG. Robert led operations and management of the largest card conversion in history between FIS and American Express at more than 100 million cards and 380,000 hours of work. He has extensive international payments experience and has launched award-winning, multi-currency payment programs. Robert is an expert in all facets of program management, including compliance, risk/fraud, and customer service.
Robert earned his BA and MBA from the University of Florida.
As Chief Client Officer at Qolo, Betty Mitchell not only puts forward a strong foundation to building client relationships, but also brings over two decades worth of financial services experience to our team. She most recently served as the Vice President of Client Engagement at Arroweye Solutions where she accelerated strategic organic growth for the company. Prior to that, Betty was Vice President of Partnership Solutions at The Results Companies and held senior roles at Wave Crest Payment Services of the Americas and Fidelity National Information Services. Betty’s core areas of expertise include financial payments and processing.
Betty earned an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida.
Mr. Patel has 28 plus years of extensive Information Technology experience across Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Commercial banking, Aerospace, and Government verticals. He has held CIO / CTO / CISO roles across some of the larger global hedge funds and private equity groups along with senior leadership roles at one the largest commercial investment banks.
Mr. Patel holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Fairfield University and has received his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Central Connecticut State University.
Laura Harrington serves as the Chief of Staff at QOLO, bringing a wealth of expertise in leadership, executive support, and HR management. Her role is pivotal in guiding our organization toward success as she expertly manages complex schedules, oversees executive expenses, and leads critical company initiatives. Laura's career journey includes roles at PwC and QBE North America, where she excelled in client entertainment and executive support. She began her career as the Senior Director of Administration at The Peak Organization.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Laura has a rich history of community involvement. She actively volunteered in the "Earn Your Future" program, teaching financial literacy to urban city school children. Additionally, she contributed to "Read Ahead," where she mentored young children in literacy within elementary schools.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Fordham University, with a minor in Spanish. Laura's leadership at QOLO reflects her unwavering dedication and commitment to our company's success.
